Some windows on your Mac display a row of icons at the top of the window, known as a toolbar. While the toolbar gives you one-click access to commonly used commands, such as saving or printing a file, you may want to hide your Mac’s toolbar so that it doesn’t clutter up the appearance of a window. Office navigates you to the Info tab in the File menu. You can also reach this tab by clicking File > Info.Click Show All Properties to view and edit the document properties in the Properties section. All required properties from the document library are outlined with red borders on the Info tab in Word 2016, Excel 2016, and PowerPoint 2016. You can use the File menu to create a new folder by selecting File, New Folder (or using the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + N). The Edit menu contains the copy, cut, and paste commands. Using the View menu, you change how the contents of your folders are displayed in the Finder.

I was trying to reorganize my desktop and had a folder dragging into another folder.

When I did this, the folder just got stuck in the toolbar and didn't copy over to the new location...

It's not a clickable button as if it were a favorites in the toolbar itself.

When I try to drag and drop it away from the toolbar, it doesn't work.

I then right clicked and went into 'Customize Toolbar' and it wasn't in any of the lists for me to take it off.

Obviously its a 'favorites' feature, but how do I get the thing to get off all my finder toolbars now?

If dragging and dropping while holding down Command nor dragging the folder out after selecting Configure Toolbar works you can:

  1. Open ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
  2. Go to NSToolbar Configuration Browser / TB Item Identifiers, identify the problematic folder. If it's the only folder in the toolbar, will be the only com.apple.finder.loc item. If not, identifying it is pretty straightforward.
  3. Delete that item, log out and then log back in.

How To Get Document Folder On Toolbar For Mac

Well I don't know if this is what you mean, but I accidentally dragged a folder into the Finder, and when I removed it a question mark appeared.

How to delete an accidentally-dragged-in folder in the Finder toolbar:

Just hold Command ⌘ and drag the folder out of the Finder window and whoosh it's gone.

Had the same issue with a folder that got stuck in my sidebar, with no right-click option displaying. I tried removing preference files, etc.

Hold ⌘ cmd and click and drag the icon away from the toolbar.

Issue:

When opening AutoCAD, a toolbar, menu item, palette, or other user interface element is missing from the program.

Causes:

Missing interface elements may indicate that a CUIx file is not loading properly or that the AutoCAD profile is damaged.

How To Get Document Folder On Dock

Solution:

Restore missing interface elements by reloading the CUI file:

  1. Enter the CUILOAD command on the command line in AutoCAD and press Enter.
  2. Select and then remove the main CUI file that is listed (if present) by clicking on Unload.
  3. Click the Browse button and select the CUIx file. The default location for CUIx files depends on the AutoCAD version. For example:
    • AutoCAD: C:Users<user>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 20xxRxx.x<language>Support
    • AutoCAD Mechanical: C:Users<user>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD Mechanical 20xxRxx.x<language>Acadm
  4. Click Load and then Close.
  • The main CUIx file is named differently for each version of AutoCAD.
  • The specific CUIx file that contains what is missing in the program may be a partial CUI file and not the main one. For example, AutoCAD Mechanical has core AutoCAD elements in acadmac.cuix, but the main customization file is acadm.cuix. If a toolbar that is a core element is missing, it will be in the acadmac.cuix file.

  • Some toolbars are specific to third-party add-ons or applications and may not import if the add-on is not installed, or if the add-on is meant for a different version of AutoCAD.

  • To see the exact file names of the various CUIx files that AutoCAD loads, do the following:
    1. Type CUI and press Enter.
    2. Click the All Customization Files drop-down menu.
    3. Right-click each individual CUIx file to see its file name.

Alternative methods

  • Try resetting AutoCAD to defaults to restore its user interface elements (see How to reset AutoCAD to defaults).
  • Copy over the .cuix files from a working installation on another computer.

  • If AutoCAD settings have been backed up, import them again to restore the workspace (see How to import, export, backup, and transfer settings to and from AutoCAD).
