Mac Specs for Pro Tools 12 (self.protools) submitted 8 months ago by loserWithAGirlfriend Hey everyone, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I came here from /r/audioengineering. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.
Buying the best computer to run Pro Tools is a big decision and one that you should spend a lot of time researching. A computer is a huge investment and if you choose wisely it should last for several years to come. Pro Tools 12 compatibility with Macbook Pro? I have a Late-2011 13' Macbook Pro, running Yosemite 10.10.2. On the Avid website for Mac System Requirements for Pro Tools 12, it lists: Intel® Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.0 - 10.9.5 or 10.10.0 - 10.10.2. I have 4GB of RAM and a 750GB Harddrive. There are macbook pro's with worse specs than mine.
- Pro Tools 8.0.4 added official support for Mac OS X 10.6.3 and higher.
- Although there are no known issues with Mac OS X 10.6.3 and Pro Tools 8.0.3 systems, 10.6.3 and higher is not officially qualified or tested with Pro Tools 8.0.3.
Mac Specs For Pro Tools
The initial release of Pro Tools TDM 6.9, Pro Tools LE 6.9, Pro Tools M-Powered 6.8, Digidesign CoreAudio Driver v6.9, and all earlier versions of Pro Tools will not work with Mac OS X version 10.4 'Tiger', released April 29, 2005. Would an i7 MacBook Pro (3.8 GHz Turbo CPU, 16 GB RAM, 2 GB VRAM, 512 GB SSD) be good enough for recording up to 12 simultaneous inputs at 96 KHz with Pro Tools 12? My main use case is going to be recording a drum setup with 8 XLR inputs, but in the future I plan to daisy chain in another Quantum to record a couple of guitars and maybe some other inputs at the same time.
