I'm using outlook 2007 and wanted to know if there is an option to bind keyboard shortcuts to outlook toolbar buttons?

Outlook 2010 has the special office 'strip' which allows you to place specific custom buttons with automatic shortcuts (Alt+1, Alt+2 ...) - is there something like that in Outlook 2007?

Edit: As I already answered my question (in some way) - I realized that I might not have explained the problem accurately - What I needed was to be able to bind keyboard shortcuts to my custom macros. I assumed the only way to do it is by adding them as toolbar buttons - but that is not a requirement.

This question came from our site for system and network administrators.

I found a solution to my problem:

  1. Add the custom buttons to the menu bar instead of the tool bar
  2. Give it a name with an accelerator, e.g.: &1. Move to ....
  3. Define the button to display Image and Text so I'll have my Icon and the Accelerator displayed.

How

Below is the example of what I did

Now the Alt+1 accelerator invokes the Expire in 30 days operation.

Would appreciate any other solution as well - this feels like a workaround ...

An Office user wanted to know how to sync Quick Access Toolbar and Ribbon customizations to another computer:

Customize toolbars windows 10
I customized my Quick Access Toolbar and ribbons. Is there a way to synchronize it to my other systems?

'Synchronize' indicates you are looking for an automatic solution and the answer to that is no, but you can import/export the customizations or copy the customizations to your other computers by copying the OfficeUI files. Copying the files is faster than using the Export customizations command, especially in Outlook where each item type has its own ribbon.

To export your changes, open the File, Options dialog and select Customize Ribbon or Quick Access Toolbar. Click Import/Export button and Export all customizations. Copy the file to your other computer and repeat the steps, choosing Import customization file instead.

To copy the files, close your Office programs then open Windows Explorer and type or paste
into the address bar and press Enter. This will open Windows Explorer to the location of the UI files.

Copy the OfficeUI and customUI files to the same location on your other computers and restart the applications. (Don't copy the other files and subfolders in the Office folder.)

Store the files in OneDrive, Dropbox or other online file storage for backup and easy access.
